Shabby Chic Paper Rose Topiary

So I decided to enter the Market Street Stamp "Paint the Town" color challenge this month.

Aren't those gorgeous colors? I only used two of the colors but I think that is okay... and if it's not.. I will find out! LOL

Here is a photo of my entry.

I used a 4" styrofoam ball, 12" dowel, a white pot, some moss, white sheer ribbon, some paper roses, and the Bit of Burlap background stamp from Market Street Stamps.

I created the two different color roses. One set with Bubblegum Pink tone and the other with the Berry tone. I used the background stamp on the Bubblegum Pink roses only. Here is a close-up.

I used brown ink and inked all the edges before assembling the rose from SVG Attic's Your's Truly SVG set.

I hot glued all FORTY... YES... FORTY roses to the ball. It took me a few days to get this finished and for me that was fast considering I have kids, husband, house, and carpeltunnel in my hands (YUCK).

Easy homemade clip organizer!

I was blog hopping the other night and came across this AWESOME blog post on how to make your own clippy organizer! Janie from Janie's Craft Closet was so generous to share how she created this organzier and where she got the tutorial from. I IMMEDIATELY ordered everything from Walmart.com!

Here are some photos of the end result!

Here is the entire organizer. This is a revolving shoe rack that you can order for around $21 on walmart.com! (Right now it is out of stock though!) This is very simple and fast to put together. It comes in seven basic parts not including hardware but the instructions are very simple. Needless to say it was up in about 3 mins and I was decorating it!

I purchased these shower curtain hooks ($3-5) and removed the beads. They can hold more than one ID badge holder($1.99/12 pk.)/bag.

See how I bent the arms down... It gives me more space to hang as I quickly ran out of space on the middle tier. I used ID badge holder clips ($18/100 pk.) since they were a lot less expensive than the hooks for the clip it up. If you dont have time to waste (Because this way is time consuming), purchase the clip it up hooks and make your life easier!

I did the same for the bottom tier so that I could hang some large packaged ribbon and twine embellishments in front of my acrylic stamp sets (see all those MSS and Peachy Stamps!) I should have more!

The basket at the top is how all baskets come. I cut out a 9.5" circle with a 1.5" hole in the center using SCAL to create a base for the basket so that it could hold more stuff. I will eventually weave ribbon through the rungs to create sides.

This is a sneak peek of what I am working on this week. It has taken me two days so far and I have created about 20 roses and it is only half way covered! Yikes!

Thanks for stopping by!

I love heart chains!

This craft project that I recently enjoyed with my children was so fun and easy! It is one of my favorite simple crafts to do with my kids this time of year. This year I decided to create the hearts a little differently.

Instead of using just plain strips of paper, I use Erin's Scalloped Trims from SVG Attic to create our hearts for the chain.

I used the Double Scalloped Trim and the Double Eyelet Scalloped Trim.

I cut them at 3/4 in. by 10 in. I also created a plain rectangle using simple shapes in SCAL. I cut out two sets of each shape for each color, giving me a total of 18 hearts. FYI... I could have used at least three more hearts.

In SCAL I welded two of the same SVG files together and resized.

Cut them out and decorated with twine from The Twinery. Here I used the Pink Sorbet twine.

Here I used their Blossom Twine

For the red hearts I used the Maraschino Twine.

All cardstock used was Co'redinations. Red is Fire Brick Distressed, the darker pink is Lutus Flower and the light pink is Sugar N Spice all purchased at JoAnn's.

I looped four strands of Maraschino and Pink Sorbet twine through each end and tied off to hang from my mantel. As I look at the photos I am regreting not thinking of embossing and inking some of the strips for added character.

Authentique Paper January Sketch Challenge

I decided to enter the Authentique Paper sketch challenge for January. This company is great! I love their paper and their DT has some great inspiration. I have been holding onto my Blissful and Journey 6x6 paper pads for sometime now. Cassie over at Paper Issues was so kind to make a special order for me! <3!!!

Authentique Paper provided a sketch for a layout and a card. I decided to go with a card since I did not have enough time to plan a layout and decide what photos to use. Once I saw the sketch for the card I knew exactly what I wanted to do and every element I was going to add to it.

Here is the sketch....

I think its perfect! I did not follow the sketch exactly but I think it is close enough!

Here is my A2 size card. I used plain white cardstock for the card, then layered a 4" x 5.25" layer of cardstock, I scored each side at 1/4" with my score board.
I then layered strips from the Blissful collection, then poped up the yellow/gray panel and wrapped with Lemon twine from Divine Twine that I purchased from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I stamped my sentiment "Simple Joy" from Market Street Stamps Simple Joys stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Poped up that panel with foam adehisive tape and called it a day!

I hope you like my card. Go checkout Authentique Paper and join their challenge! It runs til January 31st and you can enter as many times as you like with different projects! So cool!

LOVE this stamp set! It's my fav! Go get it on sale now!

Love My Tapes Sketch Challenge

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by. Today is my SECOND blog post which is pretty amazing considering I always forget to post my projects on here. I tend to use facebook A LOT!

I stumbled upon Love My Tapes while searching for paper crafting challenges on ScrapChallenge.com. This one seemed simple and fun so I decided to enter. I recently purchased SIX DCWV stacks at JoAnns and they were all NEW RELEASES!

I used the The Chateau Lavender and The Chateau Lavender Cardstock stacks to create this card. I also used the Simple Joys (which is on SALE right now! Save $7.50) stamp set from Market Street Stamps (I think this is my favorite stamp set!)

So here is my card. Please leave some love and thanks for stopping by!

DCWV January Template Challenge

I received an email yesterday from DCWV Diary Blog for their January Stack-a-holic challenge. I had promised myself that I would do one layout per week this year and this was the perfect motivation. Erin chose a great layout sketch by Susan at Sketch Savvy!

We (my little family) went to Disneyland over the kids Christmas break. We went on Dec. 29th and let me tell you, DO NOT go on this week EVER! The tournement of the Roses and the Rose parade in Pasadena was that weekend so every High School marching band was visiting Disneyland before they had to get to work! It was a sea of people, but it is the Happies Place on Earth!

We still had a great time and even got to go on rides. On our way to Disneyland I asked Ethan (age 4) who he wanted to see ( I already knew the answer). He said "PLUTO!" Luckily, Pluto was visiting Santa and his reindeer at the Reindeer Round-up just shy of reaching Big Thunder Mountian. We saw him THREE, yes you read that right, THREE times. Thank God the line was not long at all and Pluto was very patient and just as excited as Ethan every single time he saw him. What a good puppy!

So after all my blabbering here is my first layout of 2012! May there be many more!

I used the DCWV Guy stack which worked out perfectly! The blue crochet ribbon I purchased from Paper Issues.

I used SVG Attic Jack's Tracks SVG Colleciton for the Bone Tag! I used the Argyle Cuttlebug folder and embossed the name tag. Used SCAL to create the Pluto die cut.

I aslo used Jack's Tracks for the Paw Prints and one of our newest collections Be Mine for the journaling tag which is found in the Love Coupons Booklet.

These are the Dog Tag files in the Jack's Tracks SVG Collection also.

And here is my little monkey! <3 him so much!
