Welcome to the Welcome Spring Blog Hop! SVG Attic's design team has decided to put on a one day blog hop featuring the Welcome Spring SVG Collection! We thought it would be fun to see how everyone decorates the set differently. We invited our Facebook fans to hop along with us with their creations from the set as well! I hope you have fun and get tons of inspiration along the way.

If you arrived from the SVG Attic blog, then you are on the right track. If you stumbled upon us accidentally and want to hop along, please start at the SVG Attic blog.

I chose to use the bird cage file from the Welcome Spring collection. I just love this file and have found several different uses for it while trying to come up with a unique and fun project.

My son Tyler has always love St. Patrick's Day and every year we create a leprechaun trap. It all started when he was in Preschool.

Here is the first photo of the trap.

I used the bird cage side1 and side2 files. I added a circle cut out to the bottom and cut two bottoms so when the leprechaun goes up the ladder he falls through the hidden hole.

I used the ladder from the Apple Picking SVG Collection and decorated it with the clover gold coin and the horseshoe gold coin from the Go Green collection.

I then cut out the pot of gold from the Go Green collection and added a few gold coins to it.

When the leprechaun goes up the ladder and accross the lid, he will fall through the hidden hole and be trapped!

This is really fun and we set up something different every year. I make it look like the leprechaun got into everything and tore up the area where the trap was. Wives tales suggest it is impossible to catch a leprechaun, even if you believe in them! Tyler has outgrown this tradition but my youngest son Ethan is 4 and really enjoyed creating this with me! Last year the leprechaun got into the glitter, but I think I will save myself the clean up and go with something the dogs can just clean up for me!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project. Your next stop is the awesome Nicole!

I have listed a complete line-up of the hop in case you get lost along the way!

  1. Great idea! My granddaughter lives with us and her school seems to always be targeted by leprechauns each year, so maybe we can make one and see if we can catch one! I am sure she will love trying, Thanks!
